Cotswold Volunteers was launched in Cirencester in 1961 as a means of providing assistance with shopping and gardening for the elderly and frail who did not have any family locally.
The service went from strength to strength and by 1972, two further services were introduced – a befriending service and a volunteer car scheme and the transport side of the charity was further augmented by a Dial-a-Ride service.

Bowling takes place throughout the week, with regular competitive bowling on weekdays (am and pm) with most friendly matches on weekend afternoons.
Outdoor bowling takes place from April to September with men’s and ladies competitions and mixed friendly matches. Indoor bowls runs from October to March with men’s and ladies competitions, a mixed internal league (afternoons and evenings) and friendly matches.
Free coaching for beginners is offered on the club’s indoor rinks.

Sessions take place on Friday evenings in the main dining hall – 6.30pm Junior Martial Arts; 7.30pm Adult Tae Kwan-Do; 8.30pm Over-16s Self Defence. Regular free community training sessions are also held.
