In 1963 a fundraising campaign begain in Chipping Norton to build a swimming pool. More than £20,000 was raised in just seven years and in 1970 the Lido was opened.
With its heated 25m pool and toddler pool, slide and café, the Lido is an oasis in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, whether you’re a serious early-morning swimmer or a family looking for an afternoon’s outdoor fun.

Many people don’t realise that Chipping Norton has its own museum housing a large collection of artefacts related to the town and its activities.
It is currently situated in the hall above the Co-op, and has extensive archives which support the family history research developed by a member of Chipping Norton History Society.

A contender for the accolade of smallest museum in Oxfordshire, the heritage centre opened in 2001 in the restored chancel of Churchill’s original medieval church.
It is located in a stunning setting overlooking the site of the ‘lost’ village of Churchill, destroyed by fire in 1684.

Chipping Norton has a very successful indoor and outdoor bowls club. Located on the A361 Burford Road, the outdoor club was set up over 36 years ago and the indoor club has just celebrated its first 25 years of existence.
