Minchinhampton-based Longfield Hospice is encouraging people to support its Butterfly Appeal as a special way to remember a loved one.
The hospice has 1,000 beautiful limited-edition metal butterflies available which will be a beautiful reminder of someone you love – whether they were cared for by Longfield Hospice or not.

When you give a generous donation to the appeal, the hospice will reserve a butterfly just for you.
Your butterfly will be part of a mesmerising artwork of 1,000 butterflies. Each butterfly will symbolise a life remembered. Subject to any Covid restrictions, you can view the butterflies at the following venues:

You can collect your butterfly from the Museum in the Park in Stroud on Saturday 24 July 2021 between 10am and 2pm. Alternatively, the hospice can post your butterfly/butterflies to you from mid-August onwards. An additional £5.00 postage and packaging fee (per butterfly) will be charged when you donate, if you select the postage option.

- Gloucester Cathedral from 26 June to 11 July
- Museum in the Park, Stroud, from 14 July to 24 July
- £25 could help pay for a day’s travel across the county to deliver the care our patients need in their own homes at the end of their lives.
- £66 could pay for two telephone counselling sessions with a trained professional, helping patients and families come to terms with difficult circumstances.
- £124 could pay for an essential overnight shift to support a patient in their home and enable their family to get some rest.
