On this page we look at what makes it special, with details including Cornbury Festival, Cornbury Music Festival and July, and a little of the context that helps you see it as more than just another stop on the map.

Cornbury Music Festival – which was due to have taken place on the weekend of July 9 to 11 – has been cancelled for the second year running due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement from festival organiser Hugh Phillimore to festival supporters said: “It really pains me to have to tell you I’ve finally decided to postpone Cornbury again – to July 8th, 9th & 10th 2022.

“We just don’t think we’ll be able to produce anything that resembles the lovely little event we’ve all enjoyed for the last 16 years.
“We also can’t risk trying to stage the festival knowing it could still be cancelled at the very last minute by our local authorities – there’s currently no cancellation insurance available and, brave as we are, it’s just too scary to attempt it.
“Of course, we’d be hugely grateful if you would continue to support us and roll over your tickets to next year once again, in which case, your bookings will be protected against any price increases next year. However, we do understand that this may not be a viable option for everyone, so refunds will be available via our ticketing company Eventim.”
All ticketholders (from both 2020 and 2021) will be contacted by Eventim shortly so there is no need for you to do anything at this stage.
Hugh added: “I’m sorry we can’t all meet in our beautiful Cotswold home this year but, it goes without saying, we’ll make it one hell of a party in 2022!”
Canadian rocker Bryan Adams was among the headliners lined up to play at Cornbury this year.
