RESTAURANT REVIEW: The Boxing Hare at Swerford
06/01/2020
I was looking for somewhere special in the Cotswolds to take my wife for a lunch to celebrate her birthday and, on finding The Boxing Hare at Swerford, it’s fair to say we struck gold.
Located just a couple of miles from Chipping Norton, I was not familiar with this establishment but, on a bright Saturday in early January with our two children in tow, we were afforded a very warm welcome from the friendly staff.

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Bill’s, Cheltenham
14/07/2019
I’ve never been to a Bill’s restaurant before, but what better way to try one out than by having lunch there as a 57th wedding anniversary treat for my parents.
We ventured to Bill’s Cheltenham restaurant in the bustling Regent Street which is home to several other eating and drinking establishments.

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Zizzi Cheltenham
08/09/2018
Zizzi Cheltenham must be one of the most atmospheric venues in Gloucestershire to enjoy a meal.
Situated in the deconsecrated St James Church in Suffolk Square, the Italian restaurant has reopened its church doors after extensive refurbishment work.

RESTAURANT REVIEW: The Maytime Inn, Asthall
11/03/2018
The Maytime Inn is located in a glorious setting in the picture-perfect village of Asthall, just a few miles from Burford.
As well as being set in a lovely part of the Cotswolds, Asthall has a rich history and its Manor is notable for being the childhood home of the Mitford sisters.

RESTAURANT REVIEW: The Shilton Rose & Crown
08/10/2016
The Cotswolds is full of hidden gems tucked away off the beaten track, and when you find one you don’t know whether to keep it to yourself or tell the world about it.
Well I think it would be downright selfish not to tell you about one such gem I’ve just discovered in the form of a charming village pub in an idyllic Cotswold village.

RESTAURANT REVIEW: The Ragged Cot, Minchinhampton
04/05/2016
The Ragged Cot is a stylish 17th Century former coaching inn that stands alongside 600 acres of National Trust common land near Minchinhampton in the southern Cotswolds.
The Cot still offers B&B; lodgings to weary travellers but I visited it with my parents to try out the Springtime lunch menu in the light and airy restaurant.
